CHICAGO – Littelfuse Inc. in Chicago is introducing the LS0502SCD33S single-cell supercapacitor protection integrated circuit for enhanced backup power applications in mobile and portable devices like industrial handheld devices; portable electronics with removable batteries; smart utility meters; and automotive dash cameras.

The single-cell supercapacitor protection IC is tailored for charging backup power sources under extreme conditions. Backup power is essential, but lithium-ion batteries have limited temperature tolerances.

The Littelfuse LS0502SCD33S capitalizes on supercapacitor technology with a broad temperature range with power and energy density, as well as its ability to help manage operational voltages higher than three volts.

The LS0502SCD33S has integrated input overvoltage and current protection, and offers an adaptable all-in-one and space-efficient solution for storage capacitors or capacitor banks. It also has a diode for reverse blocking to maintain performance and efficiency when input voltage drops.

The LS0502SCD33S single-cell supercapacitor protection supports protection like over-current protection and over-voltage protection. For more information contact Littlefuse online at www.littelfuse.com.
